With the door of reform and opening up ever wider, China has become one of the top destinations for talented people from all over the world to start businesses and find jobs. As a world-renowned NGO in the field of human resources services, Zhongguancun Talent Association has also attracted a number of foreign talent members in recent years, some of whom are very willing to share their stories about starting and working in China, and objectively express their views on China. At the same time, they are also willing to offer suggestions for foreign talents to start businesses in China, and provide local governments with suggestions and opinions on support and services for foreign talents to work in China.

 

Based on this background, ZTA initiated a series of public benefit interviews with foreign members, the theme of which is: my views on China's development/experience and my views on China's employment and entrepreneurship.

 

This interview is with Australian entrepreneur Jason Wang, who is the COO and co-founder of Beijing Simba Innovation Technology Co., Ltd，which is a company focused on providing users with cloud technology consulting services. Today he will explain his views on employment and entrepreneurship in China from his perspective.

 

 

1. When did you come to China? Why did you choose your current major, job, or entrepreneurial field? What attracts you most in China? What's your favorite city in China?

I returned to China in 2015. Based on my judgment of the development trend of cloud computing and my experience in cloud technology and service industries at home and abroad, I co-founded Beijing Beijing Simba Innovation Technology Co., Ltd., registered in Zhongguancun Entrepreneurship Building, Haidian District, Beijing, focusing on providing users with cloud technology consulting services. Over the next few years, Simba Innovation has rapidly developed into an experienced cloud technology solutions and consulting service provider, working closely with Amazon Cloud Technologies to provide international high standards of service to customers around the world.
 

The Chinese people are industrious and intelligent, the young people are highly educated, and there is a large talent pool in various fields. In particular, in recent years, the Party and the government have continuously increased support and investment in the field of scientific and technological innovation, attracting a large number of foreign and sea turtle talents at the forefront of scientific and technological innovation.
 

The mountain culture of the motherland, every grass and trees are deeply attracted to me, there is no favorite city, because each has its own characteristics, all like it very much.

 

2. In recent years, more and more international entrepreneurs have emerged in China. How do you feel about entrepreneurship? What are the difficulties at different times?

The process of starting a business is close to death, and each stage will encounter different difficulties. The most important difficulty for startups is more or less financial pressure. My team and I hope that after overcoming the difficulties in the initial stage, we can keenly grasp the development opportunities of The Times, and rapidly grow into an industry unicorn by relying on internationally advanced core products and technologies and introducing advanced western enterprise management mechanisms.

 

3. How do you understand the different laws and regulations in China and obtain a business license? Do you have the support of the local government? 

Beijing Simba Innovation Technology Co., Ltd. was registered in Zhongguancun, Haidian District, Beijing, and settled in Zhongguancun Entrepreneurship Building, a famous incubator in Haidian District, for three years. It has not only enjoyed office space rent concessions and tax deductions, but also learned about the relevant policies and regulations of Beijing and Haidian District government by participating in various publicity activities held by Entrepreneurship Building.

 

4. How do you view the development of China's technology and digital economy in recent years? Do you have opportunities and benefits?

China is in the midst of economic transition, and the next stage of economic growth will be led by scientific and technological innovation. We are fortunate to start a business in this critical period, and we are in the field of information technology, where various scientific and technological innovations are most active. We hope to seize the opportunity to participate in and share the dividends brought by this wave of economic development.

 

5. How do you see the opportunities in the Chinese market? How has the market and the Chinese consumer changed in recent years?

China's market is large, there are many opportunities, but many industries are currently facing the challenge of internal volume, how to promote business to go to sea, seize overseas markets, has become a hot issue that many entrepreneurs pay attention to and think about. In response to this new demand in the domestic market, Sino Innovation makes full use of the advantages of a wide distribution of branches abroad, and actively provides Chinese overseas enterprises with the most cost-effective data security compliance services, such as GDPR in Europe and SOC2 in North America, to solve the worries of overseas enterprises.

 

6. China continues to open wider to the outside world and improve its business environment. What areas do you need to improve?

In recent years, the state and government have continuously relaxed the loan approval conditions for startups and small and micro enterprises, hoping to give more care and assistance to foreign legal enterprises, and further relax the conditions for foreign employees to apply for green cards.

 

7. With the resumption of social and economic activity this year, how is your business or studies progressing? What are your future prospects?

In recent years, the amount of cloud resources used by enterprises and individuals has increased year by year, and the cloud for business applications has become the only choice for most enterprises, and the overall prospect of the cloud service industry is promising. In this context, the FinOps cost-reduction and efficiency platform product CLOUDFIT, independently developed by Sino Innovation, is committed to significantly reducing cloud resource expenditure for enterprises on the cloud, optimizing cloud application performance and cloud resource utilization.

 

8. What is your reason for joining Zhongguancun Talent Association? What do you expect from Zhongguancun Talent Association?

At the beginning of this year, through the introduction of SRE teacher Liu Feng, I had the honor to meet the Secretary-General of Zhongguancun Talent Association Leng Ming. It is my personal honor to join the Zhongguancun Talent Association. It is hoped that Zhongguancun Talent Association can provide timely and accurate policy interpretation for us foreign entrepreneurs, guide the relevant qualification application, and enable us to focus more on accelerating technological innovation and core business development.
